Attention! On Friday, June 19, there will be an open-air 50/50 milonga at La Trattoria in Heidelberg! There will be no milonga on Saturday, June 20.
As previously announced, our milonga schedule will change in June:
Since there are currently no milongas taking place at the Goldene Rose in Heidelberg due to renovation work, we’ll be holding our 50/50 milonga this time on Friday, June 19—outdoors.
Also performing: DJ Claudia.
50% traditional and contemporary tangos, 50% neo/non-tango.
When: 8:30 p.m. – 12:00 a.m.
Where: La Trattoria, TC Schwarz-Gelb Clubhouse, Schwindstraße 9, 69126 Heidelberg
Parking: Parking spaces are available in front of the indoor tennis hall at Schwindstraße 9. From there, it is about a 50 m walk across the bridge to the milonga. Additional parking is available on Carl-Bosch-Straße and at the Alter Messplatz at Kirchheimer Weg 69. The Milonga is also easily accessible from Bahnstadt on foot or by bike via the Fahrrad-Damm.
Please note: Parking on the HTV parking lot and at the restaurant “Moods” is not permitted.

Our Milonga 50/50 brings two worlds together: 50% contemporary and traditional tangos, and 50% neo and non-tangos – atmospheric, energetic and varied.
An evening for everyone who loves variety, enjoys discovering something new and is looking for a milonga that is open to musical diversity.
Milonguero Milonga
The traditional Saturday Milonga in Heidelberg – characterized by the close embrace
When: 4th Saturday of the month, 8.30 pm – 0.30 am
Where: Goldene Rose, Hegenichstraße 10, 69124 Heidelberg. Free parking at Hegenichstraße 2.
Music: traditional (2 to 3 non-tandas upon request), rotating DJs
Pre-workshop: Tango Milonguero with Emile and Simge on the 4th Saturday of the month
Our monthly Milonguero Milonga is dedicated to the classic Milonguero style: an evening in close embrace, with clear dance flow, precise spatial orientation, and musical sensitivity – as required in well-attended milongas.
The Milonguero embrace, as well as the closed Salon embrace, are not only welcome but consciously shape the atmosphere of this evening.
5 wishes for the Milonguero Milonga:
1. Dance Milonguero style or try it. Close embrace is the way to go!
2. Be sensitive to space.
Still unsure? Then dance straight ahead in your lane. Spatially aware dancers can also turn and change lanes.
3. Pay attention to the music’s tempo and the ronda.
Fast music = dance smoothly. Slow pieces = don’t overtake. If the tempo is high during a fast rhythmic piece, but you sway in the same spot for half a minute to fully experience the melody, you will cause a traffic jam behind you and annoy people. Conversely, if you move too fast during a slow melodic piece, you will start to overtake people and thus switch from lane to lane. Your fellow dancers won’t like that either.
4. Be elastic, dance with “shock absorbers”. If you collide, your elastic body will absorb the impact.
5. Expand your repertoire. Direction-changing elements help with evasive maneuvers and smooth dancing.

The Milonga on the second Saturday is our flexible monthly format, where the program and musical direction change depending on the date: traditional evenings, special guest DJs, live music, thematic milongas, open-air formats, or unique special programs.
Open-air milonga on the Neckar
Open-air tango with live music, views of the Neckar River , and the Heidelberg Castle illuminated
When: Saturday, July 11, 6:00 p.m. – 10:00 p.m.
Where: Museum of Ethnology, Hauptstraße 235, 69117 Heidelberg
First, tango on the Neckar. Then, the castle lights over Heidelberg.
On July 11, we’ll be dancing outdoors along the Neckar River—right on the waterfront, with a view of Heidelberg and a special evening ahead of us: The milonga runs from 6:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m.—after which the castle lights over Heidelberg will come on around 10:15 p.m.
The music is performed live by the Asato-Pais Duo, who are returning to Heidelberg: rhythmically powerful, lively, full of musical energy, and right on the dance floor.
At the decks: Jonas Maria – for an evening with a great vibe, blending live music, DJ sets, and a summery open-air atmosphere.
If it rains, the milonga will be held indoors. Please check www.intango.de, Facebook, or our WhatsApp channel/community before you leave to see where the event is taking place.
Travel Advisory: The castle will be illuminated this evening. The Old Town and the area around the Neckar River are expected to be very crowded. If possible, please use public transportation, ride a bike, or walk, and allow for extra time.

A different format in Heidelberg – different impulses, different perspectives, different sound

August 29: 100 % neo- and non-tangos with DJ Claudia
October 31: Sensual Edition with 60 % neo- and non-tangos and 40 % classic tangos, DJ Harald
Pre-workshop: occasionally workshops on various topics
Our Außer-der-Reihe Milongas take place on selected fifth Saturdays of the month and offer space for experiments and new impressions.
Here we show tango from a different perspective: from mixed music evenings to milongas with 100% Neo and Non-Tango.
These formats open up new sound worlds, create different dynamics on the dance floor, and invite you to question the familiar and experience tango anew.

Once a month, we host a practice evening where you can dance, try new things, and connect with others in a relaxed atmosphere.
The evening is open to all dance levels – and free of charge.
A good opportunity to consolidate what you’ve learned and spend some quality time together.
